About

The beginning

Lee Sass was a founder member of the project formerly In The Boat Theatre company. It was formed when two members of a social education centre asked to join a workshop to "make an image for your demo". They taught the rest of their group and headed off to the first rally adults with learning disabilities took part in.

The Collaboration

A request fo continue workshops at the social education centre soon led to a regualr event. The company was formed as a project of Action Space mobile Val Regan joined as musical director and continued to make performances at the cutting edge of disability arts. Taking shows into schools and festivals both in the uk and abroad.

The Future

The originators and developers of the company continue to progress the work of the group supporting their independence and creating new methodologies to enable unique productions. A new partnership with Sheffield University will form the basis of a research programme into the tacit and developed knowledges The Professors.
